Capt. S. K. Sinha, the founder of Suraksha Marine, holds the prestigious Certificate of Competency as Extra Master from the Ministry of Science and Technology (M.O.S.T., Government of India), widely regarded as the highest qualification in the maritime industry. With more than thirty years of experience commanding vessels and serving as a Nautical Surveyor and Examiner for the Directorate General of Shipping, he played a pivotal role in the implementation of STCW’75 Standards and mandatory for seafarers joining Indian flagship vessels, before which such Standards in Indian Maritime did not exist.

 

Capt. Sinha also authored key International Maritime Organization courses such as Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB) and Fast Rescue Boat ensuring global compliance and excellence in maritime training.

 

He has personally designed all our DGS-approved STCW courses, including Basic Safety Training, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Personal Survival Techniques, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, and Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties, ensuring compliance with global STCW standards. Having taught seafarers of various ranks, including Masters, Chief Mates, Mates, and Extra Masters, in navigation and other critical marine subjects, his leadership continues to drive Suraksha Marine’s mission to deliver world-class education, equipping seafarers to excel in challenging maritime environments.

 

Capt. S. K. Sinha personally designed Suraksha Marine’s DGS-approved STCW courses and has taught seafarers of various ranks. His leadership ensures our maritime education is of the highest quality.
